Korean War Marine Veteran Anthony A. Castelli, Founder of Castle Builders, Dies at 92

Anthony A. Castelli, 92, passed away on October 8, 2023, in the presence of his loving family. He was the dedicated husband of his beloved wife Florence (Vennettillio) Castelli for 69 years and the son of the late Antonio and Anna (Izzo) Castelli.

 

Mr. Castelli was the founder and past President of Castle Builders Inc. Castle Builders built the buildings and showrooms for Cardi Furniture in R.I. and Massachusetts, among many other projects.

 

Mr. Castelli served as a sergeant in The Marine Corps during the Korean War and was stationed at The Newport Naval War College as Sergeant of the Guard. He received many high-ranking military officers and dignitaries as his duties. He enjoyed watching The Red Sox and Patriots. His grandkids and great grandkids gave him much pride and joy.

 

Mr. Castelli leaves behind 4 children. Anthony and Lori Castelli of Cranston, Robert Castelli of Palm Desert, CA., Patricia Ricci of Cranston and Steven and Cathy Castelli of Cranston. He was blessed with 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was the late brother of Frank Castelli of North Providence and Dolores DelSesto of Warwick.

 

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Saturday at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Rocco’s Church, Johnston.  Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.  VISITING HOURS are Friday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Rocco Church, 927 Atwood Avenue, Johnston, RI 02919.
