Elizabeth (“Betty”) Wilson Ennis, of Westerly, Passes at 94
She was predeceased by her husband Edward, her brother Charles Wesley Wilson and her sisters Grace Wilson Calabro and Dorothy Wilson Mills. She is survived by her daughters Pamela Maxwell (Thomas Maxwell), of Milford NH and Laurel Ennis (Leslie Ryan) of Westerly, her son David Ennis (Barbara Batten Ennis) of Ozona FL, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Betty was born in Englewood, NJ on May 24, 1927, the daughter of Charles Wesley Wilson and Grace Edwards Wilson. She graduated from Dwight Morrow High School and Greenwich Hospital School of Nursing in Greenwich, CT, where she worked as a registered nurse for several years. She subsequently worked for the Brewster New York School District as the school nurse in JFK Elementary School.

They enjoyed an active social life, entertaining friends and family, dancing, and playing tennis. She was happiest spending time with her family and working in her flower and vegetable gardens. Betty loved meeting new people and seeing new places, traveling extensively throughout the US, Europe, and Africa. She was actively involved in multiple charitable organizations throughout her adult life.
The family thanks the private caregivers and staff at the Carriage House for their amazing support, care, and affection for our mother.
A private celebration of life will be held for the immediate family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation in Elizabeth’s name to the Salvation Army or a charity of your choice.
