Brandon Todd Morsilli Dies at 26

Brandon Todd Morsilli passed away unexpectedly while residing in Los Angeles for just a few short months. Brandon was always ready to entertain from a very young age, playing on a harmonica from his stroller when his papa took him on walks, or climbing onto a coffee table, his stage, to play his violin for anyone that would listen. After trying T-ball, soccer, and taekwondo… it was time for something new. Brandon saw a sign for boys hip-hop lessons and took it upon himself to call to enroll, and that was the beginning of his love for the performing arts.
Dance became Brandon’s passion and his circle of friends, parents of friends and instructors all meant so much to Brandon. We experienced so much joy seeing Brandon work so hard and excel in performing with the people he loved.
It took a village — Brandon had wonderful aunties and uncles. Auntie Kristen, Uncle Alex, Justin and David would include Brandon in their family vacations just to add a little chaos to the mix. Aunt Charlene and Mare were the movie aunties, always ready for an adventure. Mimi and Papa filled Brandon’s life with unconditional love, in turn shaping a boy whose love was honest and open. His mother Lisa nurtured Brandon’s creativity, and shaped the vibrant spirit that defined so much of who he was.
Brandon’s struggles did not define him as a son, grandson, cousin, nephew or friend. Thank you to all who have shown love, acceptance, and support to Brandon on his life’s journey. If love could have saved Brandon he would be with us today.
We will always remember the good times Brandon. Thank you for loving us.
Brandon is welcomed in heaven by his uncle Todd Morsilli and his dog Maggie.
He is survived by his loving parents, Lisa Morsilli and Warren Bassett; his maternal grandparents, Carole and Richard Morsilli; his aunt Kristen DeMartin (Alex) and their sons Justin and David; his uncle David Morsilli; and on his paternal side, his grandmother Anita Santana; his half brothers, Warren and Matthew Bassett; and his aunts, Lisa Murphy (Mark) and Tanya Santana (Mike). He is also survived by many loving great-aunts, great-uncles, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members.
Relatives and friends of Brandon are invited to his visitation, Tuesday, June 30, from 4pm until 7pm in the "WOODLAWN" Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston, and to his Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday, July 1, at 10am in St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Rd, Warwick. (Relatives and friends are to go directly to church Wednesday morning.) Burial will be private.
Memorial donations are greatly appreciated to Day One. For more than 50 years, Day One has provided compassionate and trauma-informed services to victims, survivors, and their families. The agency offers hope and healing to those impacted by sexual and interpersonal violence.
