Arlene Genevieve DiIorio Fall, Previously of Wickford, Dies at 89

Arlene Genevieve DiIorio Fall, of Bonita Springs, FL (previously of Wickford, RI), passed away on February 13, 2026. She was born on June 29, 1936, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
Arlene lived an incredible life, dedicated greatly to helping students. After attending Classical High School in Providence and the University of Rhode Island, she relocated to Essex, CT, where she raised her two daughters, Bethany and Robin. She attended the University of Hartford, earned a master’s in education, and built a decades-long career as a guidance counselor.
With deep caring for and dedication to her students, Arlene would impact thousands of
young people at Deep River Elementary, John Winthrop Junior High, and CCRI. She received
countless letters and emails over the years thanking Arlene and recognizing her influence.

Her impact on young people extended well past school settings to the role she cherished as Grandmother to Christopher and Benjamin, who knew her fondly as, “Gee”. Her influence on them is a poignant reminder of the legacy she leaves. And no memorial would be complete without a mention of Arlene’s affection over many years for her cats, especially Margo, Lucy and, of course, Gracie.
Arlene enjoyed gardening, shopping, reading, book clubs, UConn Girls' Basketball and Willie
Nelson. She was passionate about giving back, volunteering her time with the RI Community
Food Bank. Known for her sharp, analytical mind and strong opinions, she especially loved
talking about politics.
