Owner of Green’s Auto Seat Covers, Luke Raymond Green, Dies at 100

Green, Luke Raymond, 100, formerly of Providence, died on September 18, 2021 at Royal Health, Westerly.  He was the husband of the late Helen L. (DeQuattro) Green. 

Born in Johnston, he was a son of the late John and Margaret (Parkinson) Green.

Luke was a WWII Army Veteran who served with distinction in a guerrilla warfare unit during the Philippine Campaign under the command of Colonel Ferdinand Marcos, who later became the President of the Philippines.

He was an auto upholsterer and the proprietor of Green’s Auto Seat Covers in Warren until retiring. Luke loved playing golf and tennis, woodcarving, and traveling. He loved life and meeting new people, and most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Luke is survived by his daughter, Cathy Capalbo, and her husband Joseph of Hope Valley, Kenneth Green, and his wife Maria of Plymouth, MA, a granddaughter, Elizabeth Santilli, and her husband William, and three great-grandchildren.  He was the brother of the late John and William Green, Ellen Reynolds, Elizabeth Lavoie, and Clara Hawkins.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Friday, October 1, 2021 at 10 am in St. Pius V Church, Eaton St., Providence. 

Burial with military honors will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. 

Visitation is respectfully omitted.
