VIDEO: Have You Seen the New Washington Bridge Design? Here It Is.

Governor Dan McKee and the acting Director of the Rhode Island Department of Transportation, Bob Rocchio, provided an update on Wednesday on the building of the replacement for the failed Washington Bridge.

"We're ahead of schedule. Everything is going well, so we feel very confident that November 2028 will be met or exceeded," said Rocchio.

 

Of course, this schedule is vastly different from the schedule first presented by McKee and former RIDOT Director Peter Alviti.

 

In March of 2024, McKee and Alviti said that the bridge would be done in the spring of summer of 2026.

 

The schedule was erroneous.
