The Slide Continues on State Revenue

State revenues are down by $14 million, or .6 percent, from what was estimated last November, according to a report released yesterday by the Department of Revenue. The report noted that the deadline for filing state personal income taxes had been extended from April 15 to May 11, due to the recent flooding. Also, Amy Kempe, spokeswoman for Gov. Carcieri, said it was important to note that the fiscal year-end accrual could make up for any shortfalls.

This announcement continues to complicate the State's budgeting process.
