Suspect Who Was Arrested After Man Was Stabbed and Shot Posts Bail, Given Permission to Leave State

Cranston resident Michael McCombs was arrested following an incident last week in which a victim was stabbed -- and then shot.
According to Cranston police, when they responded to an initial report of a stabbing Wednesday night, they encountered a man who was bleeding profusely on the curb outside of a Cranston convenience store, having sustained both a gunshot wound along with a serious stab wound.
When McCombs was arrested on Thursday, police said he signed a confession to the shooting.

Court records show bond was set at $50,000, and posted at 10% ($5,000) the same day.
Justice Christine Jabour was presiding -- and also granted McCombs permission to leave the state.
About Incidents
On Wednesday, Providence and Cranston police departments both responded to a report of shots fired at the corner of Prudence and Pocasset Avenues in Providence shortly after 9 PM.
When Providence police arrived, they said they saw a trail of blood on the street, sidewalk, and leading into the Ocean State Market convenience store on Dyer Street in Cranston.
A witness told police that two men had been fighting on Prudence Avenue when one man was stabbed.
As the victim went to flee on foot, he was shot, according to the witness.
Providence Police said Cranston Police and Fire were on the scene first and had transported the victim — bleeding profusely from his wounds— to the hospital.
On Thursday, Cranston police announced they had arrested McCombs, a Cranston resident, and said that a full confession was obtained relative to the shooting.
The conditions of McComb's bail included a surrender of firearms and a “non-domestic no contact order.”
He was also granted permission to leave the state.
A pre-arraignment conference is scheduled for October.
