“Smart Health” to Feature Brown Alpert Medical School Lyme Disease Expert on Wednesday

Dr. Donald Rice at the Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University will appear on “Smart Health” on GoLocal LIVE on Wednesday at 4 p.m., where he will speak to the latest in Lyme disease research.

Rice, who provides infectious diseases consultation services at Miriam Hospital and Rhode Island Hospital, as well as outpatient infectious diseases care at The Miriam Immunology Clinic, will discuss Lyme disease prevention, recognizing symptoms, and what to know if diagnosed.

A graduate of Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA, Rice completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Lankenau Medical Center in Wynnewood, PA and Infectious Diseases fellowship at the University of Connecticut.

His clinical and research focuses are HIV and viral hepatitis prevention and care, opioid use disorder, and Lyme disease.
