Shots Fired Off Academy Ave in Providence, Shell Casings Found on Street and Bullet Inside House

Providence police found over a dozen shell casings outside house on Academy Avenue Sunday night — and a bullet lodged in furniture in an adjacent home.

Shortly after 9 PM on Sunday, police responded to Academy Avenue by Atwells Avenue for a report of shell casings found.

Police met with a resident on Academy Avenue who said he had heard the shots being fired.
A resident on Maplehurst Avenue told police that a bullet came through his window and lodged in a closet door.
Detectives are currently investigating.
