Remembering the Southern New England Victims of 9/11

The following are the list of Rhode Islanders who lost their lives as a result of the terrorism attacks masterminded by Osama bin Laden:
Shawn M. Nassaney, 25, was a sales manager at American Power Conversion. The Pawtucket native attended Saint Raphael Academy and graduated from Bryant College in 1998 cum laude with a degree in marketing. He also was a member of Bryant’s track and cross-country teams. Since his death, his family has set up a foundation in his honor. The foundation funds a scholarship at Byrant and holds a memorial race each year.
“Best known for his unending enthusiasm and drive, Shawn quickly gained the respect and friendship of his friends, family, classmates, teammates, his colleagues and all levels of management,” his family states on the foundation Web site. “His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of those countless people he touched all over the world.”
GET THE LATEST BREAKING NEWS HERE -- SIGN UP FOR GOLOCAL FREE DAILY EBLASTLynn Goodchild, 25, was a plan administrator for Putnam Investments, and also a 1998 Bryant College. Shawn Nassaney was her boyfriend and the two were on their way to Hawaii. Goodchild was a lifelong resident of Attleboro.
“At twenty-five years old, Lynn was a fun loving, friendly, easygoing young woman who enjoyed life to the fullest,” hermemorial page states. “Although she traveled extensively, Lynn always made time for her friends and family at home and at work.”
Amy Jarret, 28, was a flight attendant for United Airlines Flight 175 who had a love of traveling. A native of North Smithfield, she attended college at Villanova University.
David Angell, 55, was an executive producer of the NBC series Frasier. He had also previously worked on Cheers and Wings. Angell and his wife, Lynn Angell, were on Flight 11. The West Barrington native was a graduate of Providence College.
Carol Bouchard, 43, of Warwick, was an emergency room secretary at Kent County Memorial Hospital. She was on American Airlines Flight 11 headed to Las Vegas for a vacation. She reportedly had been reluctant to go on the trip due to her fear of flying—agreeing to go only when her friend, Renee Newell joined her.
The Rev. Francis Edward Grogan, 76, was a pastor at St. Stanislaus Church, in Fall River. A World War II veteran, he had been on United Flight 175 to see his sister. Grogan lived in Dartmouth, Mass.
James E. Hayden, 47, of Westford, Mass., was an executive at Netegrity Inc. in Waltham, Mass. A native of Rhode Island, he had been on United Flight 175. Hayden was born in Pawtucket and graduated from Stonehill College in North Easton.
