Rhode Island State Representative Marcia Ranglin-Vassell said that her son’s car was totaled — after a suspect fleeing the state police rammed his vehicle.

“My son was on his way on Monday to the library to draw more designs when this person fleeing from state police rammed into his car and totaled it,” said Ranglin-Vassell, of the accident that occurred on North Main Street in Providence.

Ranglin-Vassell shared the Rhode Island State Police report that Paul De Costa 60, of Gainesville, Florida, was arrested for driving under the influence — and eluding police in a high-speed pursuit.
