Providence Police Provide More Info on Suspect in Recent Rape - Seeking Public’s Help

Providence police have provided more information on the suspect they believe to be associated with a sexual assault in the city last week.

Providence Police Detectives are seeking assistance from the public to identify the suspect involved in the Pembroke Avenue sexual assault that occurred on May 3 at approximately 3:30 AM.
Police believe the suspect is either a white or light-skinned male, approximately 5’8”-5’10”, 160 pounds with a small to medium build. It is possible that the subject is white, Hispanic, Cape Verdean or biracial.
He is believed to be in his late 20’s to late 30’s. The night of the assault he was seen wearing multiple different clothing combinations including red pants, black pants, a purple or blue sweatshirt or jacket with a small white logo on the upper left area of his chest (possibly a Nike “Swoosh”) and a black sweatshirt or jacket.
The supect had a dark colored “gator” style face mask and a black baseball cap on backwards with the reflective sticker on the brim. He was wearing black Nike sneakers with white soles and a white Nike “Swoosh” on the side. His sneakers appear to be either running or low top sneakers or possibly ¾ height and appear to be fairly new and in good condition.
According to police, he spoke with a Rhode Island/Boston/New England accent. The suspect has a very distinctive walk and appears to walk in a “pigeon-toed” manner.
