NEW Hassett Returns to Providence City Council
The Providence City Council elected Michael Solomon, D-Ward 5, as its new president, at a swearing-in ceremony held earlier today. The council also chose Terry Hassett to serve as president pro tempore. The meeting marked the first one Hassett has attended since suffering serious injuries in a hit-and-run on Atwells Avenue last fall.
