The Proper Slice on Newbury Street, formerly Upper Crust pictured here, was the scene post-explosion chaos today in Boston.

GoLocalProv got the following first person account from a student who was two blocks from the explosions on Newbury Street.

Natalie S., a Harvard pre-med student, was handing out flyers outside of the Proper Slice on Newbury Street when they heard the first explosion.

"We thought it was a cannon, the way they usually fire them at the 4th of July, or athletic events."

Following the second explosion though, she said, "People came running -- and screaming -- down Newbury Street.  It was chaos."

She said that people then piled into the pizza parlor.  "We were afraid to be on the street at that point."  She noted that the Proper Slice was inbetween the two explosion locations, one block away.

After a half hour, Natalie said that people began taking off on foot -- and that the Massachusetts Avenue Bridge had been shut down, so people started making their way over the Longfellow Bridge.
