RI State Police Superintendent Colonel Steve O'Donnell - the RISP will be investigating the recent incident at Tolman High School
The Rhode Island State Police are reportedly going investigate the incident that took place at Tolman High School on Wednesday where a
police officer was videotaped body slamming a student to the ground.
The Pawtucket Police said the officer had been assaulted by the student prior; protests that took place Thursday over the incident resulted in ten arrests.
City Councilwoman Sandra Cano told GoLocal prior to Mayor Don Grebien's 5:30 press conference that the State Police have been brought in.

"To be honest, I'm limited to what I can say," said Cano. "I have been in contact with the Mayor's office, we're monitoring the situation. We're going to be waiting on an investigation with the state police. What is important is that the city's taking this seriously, and we're closely monitoring the situation."
