NEW: Providence - Who Got Laid Off Today?

A number of top-level people in Providence government lost their jobs today, as the city attempts to grapple with its fiscal emergency. Here’s the list of eliminated positions, some of which were already vacant:

• Kevin Patterson, Facilitator of District Reform, High School Reform $73,711.82
• Spencer Dickinson, Special Assistant, Superintendent's Office $95,000

Note: Dickinson has taken a new position at a lower salary as Human Resources Administrator.

* One position is not listed here because person is out of the country and has not been officially notified by HR. The salary is $100,584.48.

* All layoffs are immediate, except for Kevin Patterson, which is effective April 30.
