North Kingstown Police, who had asked for the public’s help in locating a missing woman, now say she has been found safe.

"Ms. McKay has been found safe. Thank you all for your assistance," said police shortly before noon on Wednesday.

According to police, Julia McKay was last seen on Cold Springs Lane located off Boston Neck Road in North Kingstown on October 22 around 6:30 PM.

McKay is described as a white female, approximately 5’8” tall, 165 pounds, with brown hair and eyes.

She was last seen wearing a dark sweatshirt, a camouflage tee shirt, yellow stretch pants and purple sneakers.

According to police, McKay is known to frequent various North Kingstown waterways.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police at 294-3311.

Police are also asking residents in the area to check surveillance cameras if they have them
