NEW: No Stadium, No Tolls In Rhode Island House Budget
Tuesday, June 09, 2015
The Rhode Island House Finance Committee has posted the Fiscal Year 2016 budget bill scheduled to be voted on (2015-H 5900) in Committee on Tuesday, June 9 -- and it doesn't contain trucking tolls, or financing for Providence baseball stadium.
"We're not doing the tolls, we're not doing the stadium," said Larry Berman, Spokesperson for House Speaker Nicholas Mattiello. "Those both could be taken up in a separate fall session, but at this time, they are not in [the budget]."
The Finance committee is expected to meet on Tuesday after the rise of the 4 p.m. House session in Room 35 on the basement level of the State House.
