Police have arrested a ninth suspect related to a gang rape in Providence
Antonio Leiva was arrested on Wednesday at Penelope Place.
Leiva, 20, was later arraigned in court and is currently being held.

GoLocal reported on September 8 that the eighth suspect in a gang rape last December in Providence turned himself in.
Police confirmed that Carlos Vasquez turned himself, after being wanted by law enforcement.
As GoLocal reported on September 2:
Seven individuals connected to a gang rape in Providence are in police custody.
According to police, the crime occurred in December — and video was taken.

The victim was 16 years old and the rape took place at a house on Glenham Street in South Providence, just a block away from the Mattie Smith park, named after the long-time Speaker of the House.

Luis Luna, age 19 of Providence
