NEW: Members of Crowd Tackled Pawtucket Shooter

A video of the shooting in Pawtucket on Monday afternoon, which GoLocal has secured and has decided not to publish, shows the individual firing multiple shots and being tackled by members of the crowd.

Editor's Note: GoLocal did publish another video of the incident that showed players and the crowd running for cover. That video can be seen below.

In the video of the shooting, the individuals' faces cannot be seen, and GoLocal has now learned that one of the men was Michael Black.

At least two men can be seen lunging at the shooter — one of the men is wearing a #47 jersey. Black was not wearing the jersey.

The shooter killed two people attending a high school hockey game being played at Lynch Arena in Pawtucket. The shooter also died.

And three others were wounded and are in critical condition.

This is the second mass shooting in Rhode Island in just over two months. On December 13, 2025, Claudio Manuel Neves Valente, a former Brown University graduate student, returned to the campus and killed two and wounded nine.
