A man saying that he is homeless — and dying of stage IV cancer — who dropped his cat off at a Warwick animal clinic last week, leaving a note saying that he hoped they could find his cat a home, is getting his wish.

His cat is getting a new home.

GoLocalProv.com reported on Thursday, "Homeless RI Man Dying of Cancer Seeks Help Finding Home for Cat."

And Chad Callanan with Rhode Island Animal Medical Center and Four Paws Pet Resort said that cat is going not just to a good home — but a great home.

“The pet is going to a super home with great care — the cat will go home today or tomorrow,” Callanan.

Callanan found the cat in a crate on Thursday morning outside the clinic, with a note attached stating the following.

Please take care of a wonderful friend — I can no longer be a good parent to him. I cannot give him a home as I no longer have one.

I am now homeless and facing the final months of life with terminal advanced stage IV cancer.

God is good.

“We just want the owner to know the cat is going to a wonderful home,” said Callanan. “This cat is just an awesome, friendly guy.  He was obviously very well cared for.”

Blueberry

My name is Blueberry and I am a 4 year old male. I am just a nice guy looking for a new home. My feline-ality is "MVP". I'm a savvy cat who knows the score. I'm pretty unflappable, too. I don't mind entertaining myself, but a human companion at the other end of the couch and a nice scratch behind the ears always make my day. If you're looking for a resourceful addition to your team, think about signing this Most Valuable Pussycat.

Sugar Plum

My name is Sugar Plum and I am a 7 year old female. I am a sensitive lady looking for a quiet home with somebody who loves me and wants a nice companion to spend time with. I enjoy spending cuddle time with my person, but would prefer to live in a home without a lot of stuff going on. My feline-ality is "Secret Admirer". When it comes to relationships, I'm very level-headed. I don't leap in paws first, if you know what I mean. But give me a little time, and then I'll shower you with purrs, head-butts, and plenty of lap time. In the meantime, you may not see a lot of me but I'll be thinking a lot of you!

Twinkle

My name is Twinkle and I am an 8 year old female. I am an active lady that loves to explore, eat my food and treats, and look out the window at the birds. I must admit to having a little "tortitude", but I am told that that is to be expected and some find it pretty endearing. My feline-ality is "Executive". I have to say, I'm a busy cat. First, I've got to check out what's happening out the window. Next, I'll see if any closets or cupboards need looking into. And then there are my naps ? can't be late for those. I can fit a little socializing into my schedule. Shall we plan on breakfast and dinner? I hope you like kibbles.
