NEW: Gas Prices Up for Fifth Straight Week

AAA’s April 16 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.97 per gallon, one cent higher than last week. Prices locally are up 16 cents over the last month.
The current price is seven cents above the national average for regular unleaded of $3.90. A year ago at this time Rhode Island’s average price was $3.84.
