NEW: Gas Prices Lowest Since March

Gas prices in Rhode Island fell nine cents this week, bringing prices to the lowest they’ve been since late March, according to AAA Southern New England.

An October 3 survey found the average price of self-serve, regular unleaded gasoline to be $3.58 per gallon, down nine cents from last week and 14 over the past two weeks. Despite the significant drop, Rhode Island’s average is still 17 cents above the national average and 89 cents above the average price this time last year.

Prices ranged 45 cents, from $3.39 to $3.84.
