NEW: Gas Prices Down Again this Week

Gasoline prices in Rhode Island are down for the fifth straight week, paving the way for cheaper holiday auto travel, according to AAA Southern New England.

AAA’s December 19 survey of prices in Rhode Island finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.33 per gallon, down five cents from last week. The current price is eleven cents above the national average for regular unleaded of $3.22. A year ago at this time Rhode Island’s average price was $3.10—twenty three cents lower than today’s numbers.
