As GoLocal reported in 2019, Rhode Island General Treasurer Seth Magaziner’s father — Brown University alum and Clinton Health Initiative founding Chief Executive Ira Magaziner — flew with both Epstein and Maxwell, but refused to answer questions about the relationships.
According to flight records, the senior Magaziner flew on Epstein’s plane numerous times. The flight records show that Magaziner flew with Epstein and Clinton in Africa, China, and Hong Kong.
As GoLocal reported:
"One set of flights with Epstein was in September of 2002 in Africa that included a landing in Dubai. Besides Magaziner and Clinton, the flight log lists supermodel Naomi Campbell, and actors Kevin Spacey and Chris Tucker.
Flight logs have been released by a series of court orders tied to other litigation involving Epstein and his longtime companion Ghislaine Maxwell.
On another set of flights in 2003, the senior Magaziner traveled again with Epstein and Clinton in mainland China — to Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province and then to Hong Kong."
While the senior Magaziner refused to answer questions, the press secretary for Treasurer Magaziner provided a statement on behalf of the Rhode Island office holder’s father.
Following GoLocal’s inquiries, Seth Magaziner’s office blocked GoLocal’s press access.
The senior Magaziner did not respond to repeated requests for comments about his relationship with Epstein and Maxwell.
About Arrest
As NBC reported:
"Ghislaine Maxwell, the British socialite and heiress who became a confidante of disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein and was later implicated in his alleged sexual crimes, has been arrested by the FBI, two senior law enforcement sources tell News 4 New York.
She was arrested in Bedford, New Hampshire around 8:30 a.m. on charges she conspired with Epstein to sexually abuse minors, and is expected to appear in a federal court later today, the sources say.
The six-count indictment in Manhattan federal court alleges that Maxwell helped Epstein groom girls as young as 14 years old, going back as far as 1994.
"In some instances, Maxwell was present for and participated in the sexual abuse of minor victims," the indictment says.
The daughter of media baron Robert Maxwell, Ghislaine was a one-time girlfriend of Epstein's and was at the high-flying investor's side for decades."
