NEW: Chafee to Meet with Local Businesses in Woonsocket
Monday, March 14, 2011
Governor Lincoln Chafee and Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation (RIEDC) Executive Director Keith Stokes will meet with Woonsocket Mayor Leo Fontaine this afternoon to hear from small businesses that will benefit from the Governor's recent budget proposals.
In his Fiscal Year 2012 budget, Governor Chafee has taken steps to establish fair and competitive tax structures that will encourage small business development and to reduce the franchise fee — flushing capital into almost 30,000 small businesses in Rhode Island.
The meeting — to take place at City Hall, 169 Main St. in Woonsocket from 4:15 to 6 p.m. — will feature three local businesses: Olly's Pizza, located at 204 South Main St., Honan Block Building, located at 116 Main St., and The Art Center, located at 68 South Main St.
