GoLocal has confirmed that additional subpoenas have been issued by Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha’s office relating to an ongoing investigation relating to action tied to Speaker of the House Nick Mattiello’s office.

GoLocal has confirmed that Patrick Butler -- another member of the Convention Center Authority Board -- was issued a subpoena today.

According to sources, that subpoena related to a conversation between Mattiello's chief of staff Leo Skenyon with Butler regarding James Demers.

Besides Skenyon, Frank Montanaro Jr., and four other related to the Convention Center including Paul MacDonald, Robert Lauro, Lawrence Lepore and Jim McCarvill, have testified.

As GoLocal reported on February 5, Skenyon has also received a grand jury subpoena tied to Mattiello’s actions against the Rhode Island Convention Center Authority.

In January, Mattiello ordered the audit after close friend Demers, who had been a security director at the time, was placed on administrative leave, after a top female executive at the Convention Center Authority reported harassment and abuse by Demers.

The Convention Center called the audit “illegal” — and asked Rhode Island State Police Superintendent James Manni to investigate.
