Epstein Files Unveil New Ira Magaziner Connections - Undermine Previous Denials
In the early 2000s, Ira Magaziner, then of the Clinton Health Access Initiative, took a series of flights with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.

Magaziner has repeatedly refused to answer questions about those flights. But spokespeople for the Clinton Foundation and his son, now-Congressman Seth Magaziner, have denied any relationship beyond those flights between Magaziner and Epstein and Maxwell.
The Clinton Health Access Initiative did not respond to questions about Maxwell in 2020, but its spokesperson, Regan Lachapelle, wrote in an email to GoLocal, “Ira talked with Epstein only once, on the first trip that was taken to Africa in 2002 to set up agreements with governments. Epstein approached Ira and expressed interest in potentially donating funds for the new AIDS initiative and asked for a contact number and address where he might reach Ira. As the initiative was just beginning and did not yet have an office, Ira gave him a home number and address. Ira never heard from him and Epstein never donated any money to the initiative. That is the only interaction that Ira ever had with Jeffrey Epstein.”
Now, there is proof that the two connected via illusionist Al Sekel and that Magaziner had multiple interactions with Maxwell. Obviously, Magaziner knew of the relationship between Epstein and Maxwell as he flew with them repeatedly in Africa and Asia. They all lived in the same world.
Magaziner emailed Maxwell in December of 2002 about Africa and asked her to "please give my regards to Jeffrey."
And a year later, the Department of Justice Epstein documents unveil a FedEx sent in December of 2003 from Epstein to Magaziner. The contents of the package are unknown.
These contacts between Epstein and Maxwell with Magaziner range from multiple flights to conference sponsorships to emails to Magaziner being one of the contacts in Epstein's black book and much more.
Maxwell’s Role - "Reputation Cleanser"
In announcing Maxwell's conviction, the Department of Justice stated in June of 2022, “From at least 1994, up to and including in or about 2004, Maxwell assisted, facilitated, and participated in Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse of minor girls by, among other things, helping Epstein to recruit, groom, and ultimately abuse victims known to Maxwell and Epstein to be under the age of 18. The victims were as young as 14 years old when they were groomed and abused by Maxwell and Epstein, both of whom knew that their victims were in fact minors.”
In 2012, Maxwell created a not-for-profit called by some a “reputation cleanser.”
“In early 2012 she launched a marine conservation non-profit, The TerraMar Project which claimed to have the lofty goal of creating a 'global ocean community to give a voice to the least protected, most ignored part of our planet – the high seas.' Over the next three years Ms Maxwell was invited to give a TED Talk, speak at the United Nations twice and at the prestigious Washington DC thinktank, the Council on Foreign Relations,” wrote the Independent in the article "Ghislaine Maxwell’s former marine conservation charity was a ‘reputation cleanser.’"
A review of the organization finds that the group had few activities, and gave out no detectable grants.
GoLocal found in the Epstein files that one of the supporters to Maxwell's TerraMar was one of Purdue Pharma's founders, Mortimer Sackler. The company is considered to be the leading cause of the opioid crisis, which led to more than 700,000 deaths.
Through his foundation, Mortimer Sackler donated $10,000 to Maxwell's group.
Maxwell and TerraMar — Magaziner and Clinton
GoLocal reviewed dozens of Clinton events on YouTube and found Maxwell in the crowd.
One of the sponsorships Maxwell’s TerraMar invested in was the Clinton Global Initiative’s Ocean Action Network in October 7, 2013.
Magaziner “Liked Our Approach”
The ties between Epstein’s world and Magaziner were further exposed in an email now released by the Department of Justice in which by Al Sekel to Epstein said he met with Magaziner to gain his support for their effort to solve global problems.
In an email dated November 9, 2009, after Epstein was released from jail, Sekel wrote about his meeting with Ira Magaziner, “Last month, we had a good meeting with Ira Magaziner at the CGI conference, and Ira very much liked our approach and thought it would be 'huge.' He is actively supporting us now, but we need to get seed funding in, so that we can become [sic] Real. Then, the gates to further and far more significant funding will happen. Ira wants to get us on at CGI next year, which will be a big step. I will also be giving a talk on this issue at the upcoming DLD conference."
And according to emails, when Epstein got out of jail, Sekel worked to bury the negative press about the conviction by manipulating Google rankings.
Sekel and Epstein’s conference was known as Mindshift and, ultimately, was held in 2011.
In 2015, Sekel died. Besides being a close Epstein crony, he was acknowledged as one of the world's leading authorities on illusions, and he was a leader in the "freethinking" movement.
"Young Girls"
Actor Kevin Spacey, who was on some of the flights with Epstein, Maxwell, and Magaziner, has described the flights as full of "young girls."
“I will say this. There were young girls on those flights. There were young girls on those flights yeah and that's been out. They've talked about it,” said Spacey.
Besides the trip with Ira Magaziner, Spacey has other ties to the Magaziner family.
In 2009, Suzanne and Ira Magaziner were the chairs for Trinity Rep's gala award dinner. Spacey was an honoree. That was six years after Ira Magaziner's flight with Spacey and Epstein.
Magaziner Flew Multiple Times with Epstein
According to flight records, Ira Magaziner flew on Epstein’s plane numerous times. The flight records show that Magaziner flew with Epstein and Clinton in Africa, China, and Hong Kong.
Magaziner has close ties to Clinton. During Clinton’s presidency, Magaziner was Senior Advisor for Policy Development, leading the Clintons' effort for a national healthcare policy.
One set of flights with Epstein was in September of 2002 in Africa that included a landing in Dubai. Besides Magaziner and Clinton, the flight log lists supermodel Naomi Campbell, as well as actors Spacey and Chris Tucker.
Flight logs were released after a series of court orders tied to other litigation involving Epstein and Maxwell.
On another set of flights in 2003, Magaziner traveled again with Epstein and Clinton in mainland China — to Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province, and then to Hong Kong.
Maxwell is due to testify on Monday before Congress.
