DCYF Announces Near-Death of Infant

The Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF) disclosed on Monday the near fatality of a two-month-old infant.

 

“The incident occurred on January 12, 2026, and DCYF has notified the Office of the Child Advocate. The infant was open to DCYF at the time of the incident,” said DCYF

"While confidentiality laws prohibit DCYF from disclosing additional details, we are always disheartened to learn of these incidents. DCYF’s highest priority is the safety and well-being of all children," said the agency.

 

Last week, DCFY reported the death of a 2-year-old.

 

According to DCYF, the fatality occurred in November and was the result of "maltreatment."
