Cranston Priest Says “Devil” Wants Mass Canceled for Coronavirus, Has Teens Wipe Down Church
Monday, March 16, 2020
While Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo urged churchgoers to avoid religious gatherings over the weekend to avoid the spread of coronavirus, at least one Catholic priest in the state did not heed the advice.
Father Adam Young, Pastor of St. Paul’s in Cranston, Tweeted that he got teens on Saturday to help “wipe down” the church in anticipation of mass.
“The devil wants nothing more than for priests and parishes to stop celebrating mass. I got some teens to wipe down the pews after every Mass this weekend,“ Tweeted Young. “I’m pretty sure this church is the cleanest place in Cranston.
