According to Cranston Police, at approximately 1:02 a.m., officers responded to Pleasant Street for a report of shots fired.

Police said they located spent shell casings in the roadway. No injuries were reported.

There is video evidence that shows a white sedan in the area before shots were fired toward a nearby residence, say police.

The vehicle fled prior to officers arriving, said police, and the suspect vehicle was later located and recovered in Providence and had been reported stolen.

"Investigators believe this was a targeted incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the general public. Patrols have been increased in the area as a precaution," said police.
