99% Reporting: Chafee WINS, Robitaille Concedes 11:04 PM

Independent Linc Chafee will be Rhode Island's next Governor. He will make an acceptance speech in the next few minutes. GOP candidate John Robitaille has conceded.

Linc Chafee has taken a small lead with 99% reporting. The former US Senator now leads GOP candidate John Robitaille by more than 7,000 votes. According to Chafee's acting Campaign Manager Mike Trainor - the absentee ballots are now being counted.

"Rhode Island is making history tonight," Chafee told supporters at the Sheraton Providence Airport hotel. "Rhode Island has elected its first independent governor. ... Roger Williams would be proud."

Frank Caprio, the Democratic nominee has conceded.
