Car Stolen in Providence With 1-Year-Old Inside

A vehicle was reported stolen in Providence on Monday morning, with an infant inside.

Officers were called to Moorefield Street in Silver Lake shortly before 9 AM for a report of a stolen vehicle with a child inside.

According to police, they met with the mother, who said she had gone outside to start her car and put her 1-year-old daughter inside.

She told police she returned inside for a few moments and that when she came back outside, the vehicle was gone.

Police say law enforcement agencies were notified throughout the area, as well as Flock camera tracking; an officer located the vehicle at the corner of Silver Lake and Prudence Avenues.

The infant was located inside the vehicle "in good health," according to police.

Detectives are currently investigating.
