Breaking News: Poll Shows Chafee with Narrow Lead over Caprio

Independent Lincoln Chafee has a narrow three-point lead over Democrat Frank Caprio in the race for governor, according to the latest Ramussen Reports poll released late this afternoon.
The poll shows Chafee garnering 33 percent of the vote to Caprio’s 30 percent. Republican John Robitaille is closing in on the two frontrunners with 23 percent of the vote while Moderate Party candidate Ken Block is a distant fourth at 5 percent. Nine percent of voters remained undecided.
The poll is the first one taken since the September 14 primary last week, where Robitaille defeated Victor Moffitt with 70 percent of the vote. His support in the poll was at its highest so far.

The poll, based on a survey of 750 likely Rhode Island voters was on September 16. The margin of error was 4 percent.
