PC Issues Statement Regarding Investigation of Incident Involving a Member of the Basketball Team

Providence College issued a statement on Saturday after GoLocal first reported that a member of the men's basketball team was involved in an incident in which the player allegedly pointed a gun at his girlfriend.
"The College has been informed that one of our student-athletes has been detained by the Providence Police (PPD) as a result of a domestic incident that occurred off-campus early this morning. The Providence Police Department is investigating the matter, and we have no further details at this time," said Steven J. Maurano, Associate Vice President of Public Affairs, Government & Community Relations at Providence College.
"The College is cooperating fully with PPD in this investigation. All questions as to the legal status of the student-athlete should be directed to PPD," said Maurano.
