According to Bernier’s bio, he first started working in radio in Fall River.

"It's with great sadness that WNDB and Southern Stone Communications announce the passing of Marc Bernier. Marc informed and entertained listeners on WNDB for over 30 years while enjoying a successful 46-year career as a broadcast journalist," a WNDB Facebook post said.

Bernier was first hospitalized earlier in August and spent three weeks fighting the virus.

The Daytona-Beach News Journal reported on Bernier’s anti-vax stance when he was hospitalized with COVID.

“News of Bernier's diagnosis comes as Florida this past week reported 22,783 coronavirus cases on Friday — a new daily record, according to the Florida Hospital Association,” the publication reported on August 9, when Bernier was hospitalized.

“While he did not have specific knowledge of Bernier's vaccination status, [WNDB station Operations Director Mark] McKinney said that the host has made his anti-vaccination opinions well known on the air,” the News-Journal continued.
