Domenzain, who had been former Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley's deputy Presidential campaign manager and the former Communications Director for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, spoke with GoLocal's Kate Nagle.
"The more than 1,200 DREAMers in Rhode Island are bright students in our universities, hard workers in our local economy and pillars of the Latino community," said Domenzain. "Not allowing them to thrive will impact our whole state."
On Tuesday, RWU President Donald Farish reiterated his support for the program.
“This is both a moral imperative and a national necessity. America needs talent – and these students, who have been raised and educated in the United States, are already part of our national community. They represent what is best about America, and as scholars and leaders they are essential to the future," said Farish.
"Now that the Trump administration has acted on its threat to end the DACA program, I feel compelled to call upon our Rhode Island congressional delegation to lead the charge in keeping DACA in place and allowing DACA students to complete their studies."
