Freezing and eliminating the tangible personal property tax, disability pension reform, providing an exemption to the prevailing wage for school repair, and creating an Office of an Independent Inspector General are the four major budget priorities announced by the House GOP on Tuesday.

With Rhode Island facing a significant budget shortfall this year, the question remains will the GOP be able to impact spending and implement greater controls.
