Connecticut native Rebecca Couto da Silva appeared on GoLocal LIVE from her apartment in Bolzano, Italy, where she updated viewers on life during the coronavirus pandemic.
From a nerve-wracking journey to take her daughter to a dentist for a necessary surgical procedure — fearful going out could jeopardize her student visa — to having an old cat die during quarantine, da Silva shared with viewers the latest in life during lockdown in the European country.

“I believe our numbers are leveling off and our trends are getting better in terms of people being discharged from the hospital, the number of deaths have dropped and stayed down, and new infections overall I believe are trending down,” da Silva added.
"So these are all really good signs but I think day to day, people are finding it pretty difficult," she said.
