Chief Marketing Officer Jeni Pardo de Zela at Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International Realty gave both sellers and buyers the inside scoop into what she sees as the top tech tools in today’s hot real estate market.
On the sellers’ side, Pardo de Zela explained what to look for in searching out automated valuation models — and how Mott & Chace can help refine those estimates.
“Most people know AVM by a commercial name, which would be the ‘Zestimate’ and that came out about 10-12 years ago, and it’s a great way to kind of stick your toe in the water, if you want to know what your house’s current market value is,” she said.

“The range can be anywhere from ten, to forty, fifty thousand dollars, and so the AVMs are really useful to give you just a basic understanding of what’s happening, but you do need to keep in mind that it is just a computer algorithm, so therefor it doesn’t know if you’ve done some updates to your home, it doesn’t know if you’ve got a beautiful waterfront view,” said Pardo de Zela. “You really need to bring in a real estate agent that can give you current market value. [But] it’s a great starting place”
Pardo de Zela also discussed how to present your property — and Matterports, how they work, and why they matter.
And according to Pardo de Zela, there are also great tools for buyers.
* RealScout - A search portal for MCSIR clients that allows clients to submit real time feedback on listings - based off social media platforms. Allows clients to compare three listings side by side. Also features AI and will spin up photos and listings based on client feedback. So for example, if you always look at kitchen photos first that will be the first image you see.
* Curate App - An augmented realty app that allows you to scan a room and drop in furniture so you can essentially stage a room from your phone.
