The gigantic sports network decided to pull sports announcer Robert Lee from broadcasting the upcoming University of Virginia football game because his name is the same of the Confederate General whose statue removal caused all of the uproar a few weeks ago.
That’s ridiculous.
The network even defended the move by saying his broadcasting the game might cause some idiots on social media to ridicule him. That’s just letting the internet trolls win and showing them that anyone cares about their nonsense.
I understand that everyone was going crazy over the massive Powerball Jackpot that was drawn on Wednesday evening and I get that it’s nice to fantasize about what one would do with all of those newfound millions of dollars. But the lottery is really just a tax on people who cannot do math. It’s a waste of money. Horse racing is much more fun and exciting. (Though I'm sure the person who bought the winning ticket in Chicopee, Mass. would disagree.)
