Five Foundational Principles of Leadership: PC School of Continuing Education’s Graumann LIVE

There are five foundational principles or characteristics that leaders need to develop in their teams in order to achieve high performance, says Providence College School of Continuing Education faculty member Sarah Graumann -- who delved into each on GoLocal LIVE.
According to Graumann, who teaches Leading Teams, a foundational course in the school’s Leadership Development degree and certificate programs, they are trust, healthy conflict, commitment, accountability and results.
"So many of us are working remote at this time and the importance of knowing how to work as a team, how to build relationships quickly is really key at this time — that’s part of what we do in the leadership development program, but especially in the Leading Teams program," said Graumann.

About Graumann
Graumann holds an MBA in Marketing and Management from Providence College and a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Business Management from the University of Hartford. Her earliest work with teams was as a professional flutist in small ensembles and orchestras. She has since led marketing efforts for various companies in the music and manufacturing fields, including a world-renowned international musical instrument brand.
Graumann has also served as a Business Mentor to young women navigating the start of their professional careers via Year Up, a nonprofit organization dedicated to closing the opportunity divide by ensuring that young adults gain the skills, experiences, and support to empower them to reach their potential through careers and higher education.
