Federal Hill Pizza’s Manzo Introduces His Non-Profit Chefs Feeding Kids

Billy Manzo
Chef and Owner of Federal Hill Pizza, Billy Manzo’s shares his involvement with Chefs Feeding Kids with GoLocalProv’s Laura Afonso on LIVE.

Manzo’s in-depth work with pizza has allowed him to perfect the art of working with dough to craft an incredible pie.

As a Pizzaioli, Manzo says “I am very lucky, I am a certified master, and one of two Pizzaioli in the country. It is very humbling.”

As an owner of Federal Hill Pizza, it is ever so important to Manzo to be involved in the community. With a recent gift for Chefs Feeding Kids, Manzo says “Chefs Feeding Kids is something I started a long time ago, but recently, it started to explode. I will be announcing two major sponsors across the country. The Providence location is doing unbelievable with Chefs Feeding Kids. I get chefs and restaurants involved that want to do great things for their community. I am just dying to help the kids in the Mount Pleasant area of Providence.”

With locations on Warren and Providence, Federal Hill Pizza serves legendary pizza that is unforgettable. Along with him, Manzo brought his Al Taglio style pizza, the Arthur Avenue, topped with crisp pepperoni and fresh basil.

Manzo’s secret to the best pizza? It’s all in the dough, “It is like a perfect storm for this particular recipe. This particular product is very simple but almost impossible to perfect. There are four different flours from four different regions in this dough. The dough has to match the perfect heat, and match the Gilbane cheese that I use. It is like a dance, like a waltz, everything has to add up right,” says Manzo.
