National College Admissions Expert Discusses New Developments in Scandal on GoLocal LIVE

Elizabeth Heaton, Vice President of Bright Horizons College Coach and a former admissions officer at the University of Pennsylvania, joined GoLocal LIVE’s Chelsea Guay to discuss the college admissions scandal unearthed last week involving over 50 individuals who participated in various forms of bribery to get children of the wealthy into elite colleges.

When asked if the scandal was a reflection on the current processes in place at universities for enrollment, Heaton commented that the "system does still work" and that no individuals in the admissions departments of these universities have been involved thus far, and that is a good thing.

"In admissions, you look for reasons to admit prospective students, and I don’t think that has changed," noted Heaton.

Much of the discussion on GoLocal LIVE  - WATCH ABOVE -  was about what universities can do to close the gaps that allowed for a situation like this to be possible, and what will and should happen to those individuals and students involved in the scandal.
