The Rhode Island SPCA is urgently seeking a foster care home for Benni, a 6-year-old Pitbull mix.

Benni, along with another dog named Remy, were seized from an animal cruelty case in September of 2020 by the RISPCA and the Tiverton Police Department.

Both were in extremely poor condition and needed immediate medical care. Once stabilized, they were both placed with RISPCA foster care families. Remy, the 8-year-old male Pitbull mix, passed away in December 2020.

Benni had a large tumor on her rear hind quarter when she arrived. It was biopsied and found to be a mass cell tumor so our medical team removed it.

Benni Needs a Home

According to the SPCA, Benni "seems to be doing well but her prognosis, even with continued treatment, is guarded."

"Benni has previously been placed in foster care but we learned that she has certain challenging behavioral issues such as guarding and a dislike for other animals," said the SPCA.

The foster care home the SPCA is seeking for Benni is one with adults who have no other animals or children. Benni is still very mischievous, is a known fence climber and needs to be supervised when outside her
home. She also enjoys non-stop belly rubs, loves to wear pajamas and is happy to be your co-pilot on daily car rides.

"We will continue to provide the medical support she needs in her foster home," says the SPCA.
