Trinity’s 2011 Pell Awards to Honor Theater/Film Star Amy Morton

It's another star-studded night for Rhode Island, when Tony Award-nominated actress Amy Morton and Trinity Repertory Company founding artistic director Adrian Hall will be honored with the 2011 Pell Awards June 11 in Cranston.
Morton will receive the Pell Award for Distinguished Achievement in the Arts. Nominated for a Tony for her work in August: Osage County, Morton was recently seen in famed Steppenwolf Theatre Company's production of Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Morton will return to Broadway in the fall of 2012 to reprise her performance opposite Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning August playwright Tracy Letts.
Morton, a veteran member of Chicago's Steppenwolf company, has appeared in numerous films, including Up in the Air, Rookie of the Year, Straight Talk, and 8mm.
Hall will return to Providence to receive the 2011 Pell Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Arts. Trinity owes much to Hall, who came to Providence in 1964 and helped found the very theater that will honor him in June. Hall took on artistic management in 1983 of the Dallas Theatre Center, creating a connection between the two nationally respected resident theatre companies.
