Snookers Billiards Tournament To Benefit Marathon Bombing Victims
Saturday, June 08, 2013
Snookers Pool Lounge and MD Promotions will be hosting a billiards tournament at 1 pm on June 9 on Ashburton St. in Providence to benefit Stoneham, Massachusetts resident Jarrod Clowery, a victim of the April 15 Boston Marathon bombings.
Clowery was with a group of friends outside of the Forum restaurant in Boston when he was struck dozens of pieces of shrapnel from the second of the two bombs while suffering some severe burns.
Having made nearly a complete recovery, Clowery has turned his attention to giving back to the people who aided his rehabilitation.

“I feel obligated to give back,” said Clowery. “If I just take the donations and slink back into my life and try to get ‘normal,’ I’m not doing all those people who helped me justice. I need to show all the people who supported me, all the good people of the world, that they didn’t waste their time keeping me around.”
The entrance fee is $20 and all proceeds will benefit victims of the bombings. Prizes including a 32-inch flat-screen TV, pool cues, a Best-Buy gift card and others will be up for grabs.
Tournament for Boston Marathon Relief, Sunday, June 9, 1pm. Snookers Pool Lounge, 53 Ashburton Street, Providence, (401) 351-POOL.
