NEW: Rapper Childish Gambino to Headline Brown Spring Weekend

You may recognize him as Troy Barnes from NBC's Community: rapper Childish Gambino.
Late last night, Brown University's Brown Concert Agency finally announced what students have been waiting for weeks to hear- who is coming for the annual Spring Weekend concerts.

On Friday, April 20, rapper Childish Gambino, real name of Donald McKinley Glover, will be headlining. Glover is known to most as Troy Barnes on the NBC comedy Community, but his debut album as Gambino, Camp gained widespread acclaim and popularity. Also performing on Friday will be electronic duo Sepalcure and Rhode Island’s own What Cheer? Brigade.

The concert on Saturday, April 21 will see electronic group The Glitch Mob take the stage as the main act. They will be joined by Grammy-nominated rapper Cam’ron and new wave musician Twin Shadow.

The BCA has announced the acts earlier in the past, but students suspected that the deals took longer than usual due to the BCA forgoing a concert promoter this year in favor of booking the acts themselves.
