Newport Art Museum Launches Book Club

The Newport Art Museum launches a new book group called "Read/Eat/Chat" on Thursday, January 20 with a discussion of Laney Salisbury and Aly Sujo's "Provenance: How a Con Man and a Forger Rewrote the History of Modern Art." The book is a tale of a British conman and his hapless forger friend and their impact on the art world in the latter part of the 20th century.

Books selected for the series will cover museum-related topics such as collectors, collections, criminals, caretakers and curators. Local book stores, including Middletown’s Island Books, will carry "Read/Eat/Chat" titles. The series will continue to meet at noon on the third Thursday of every month in the Museum's Griswold House, and guests are welcome to bring a lunch.
